Vektur has been blessed to have an amazing singer at our disposal pretty much from the beginning. Makeda Rose, a trained operatic singer with her foot in many genre came on board at the beginnings of our first album Eclipse Move. She has absolutely transformed our music and we are so grateful.

Vektur is currently rounding out the song list for our second album which will also be released on 12 inch vinyl call Stray Dog Parliament. Makeda thankfully remains our vocal mainstay and we are all the much better for it.

Here is a comment Makeda shared with us regarding two of the pieces recently finished for the second album.

” What Are We Anyway: I love the mix between Duet voices and the BGV’s, I especially like in the end when we’re singing more together as it blends very well!

Slate & Crimson Tide: I really like the finished sound, it’s so smooth (I think that’s a trademark of the Vektur sound). I definitely love the new additions of more sax and drums it fits much better with the voice and ties it all together! Absolutley love ~

Overall thoughts: Vektur sound is definitely shaped with smooth harmonies and vocal tones. One thing I will incorporate more is the idea of R-L differential mono sounds (chorus in the left and lead in the right) as it gives the sound a fuller and more professional quality. (Reminiscent of bands like the Beatles) Of course, feel free to edit how you like I love the edits you did.”
